Version 2.43 - 7/01/2026

This update focuses on streamlining workflow accountability, enhancing platform security controls, and refining our risk scoring logic. We have also introduced a new user role to better manage stakeholder visibility without compromising operational security.

:rocket: Features

👤 Vulnerability AssignmentYou can now assign specific organization members to vulnerability findings. This ensures clear ownership and streamlines remediation workflows.

  • Notifications: Added preferences allowing users to filter alerts—choose to receive notifications for all findings or strictly for those assigned to you.
💻 Session ManagementIntroduced a centralized view to monitor active sessions across all devices. Users can now remotely terminate suspicious or stale sessions to ensure account security.

👁️ New User Role (Viewer)Added a read-only role designed for stakeholders (e.g., auditors, executives). Viewers can track findings and tests—and even be assigned vulnerabilities—but cannot modify configurations or launch scans.

🏷️ Asset Risk LabelsAssets are now visually categorized with Low, Medium, or High risk labels, allowing for immediate prioritization based on asset criticality.

Improvements

  • Refined Risk Score Formula: Deployed a novel, higher-accuracy algorithm for calculating risk scores. This update provides a more precise representation of your security posture. (Please refer to this article for formula details).
  • Authenticated On-Demand Pentests: Enabled credential submission for assets during on-demand tests. This allows our Hackian agent to perform deeper, authenticated scans behind login portals.
  • API Enhancements:
    • Implemented Rate Limiting to ensure API stability and prevent abuse.
    • Optimized backend performance to resolve intermittent server errors.
  • Pentest Visibility: Pentesters can now view the complete history of findings (both open and closed) within the pentest findings snippet.
  • UX Enhancements:
    • Made the Risk Score card fully clickable for quicker navigation to detailed reports.
    • General performance improvements across the dashboard for faster load times.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Dashboard Navigation: Fixed a broken redirect URL in the "Best Practices" chart section.
  • Leaderboard Display: Resolved an issue where newcomer hacker rankings were displaying as #NaN.
  • UI Polish: Corrected the alignment of the loading spinner during the onboarding process.

Thank you for trusting Ethiack to help you keep your attack surface visible, validated, and within your control!

PS: You might have noticed there are no release notes for 2.42. This was no oversight on our end, we simply released some Christmas magic (some snow and santa's hats) which we did not feel warranted a post (you can let us know if you disagree 😉)
